By coprecipitating BSAs into the three-dimensional structure or into the biomimetic CaP coating of BioCP, we were able to sufficiently retain the 2 different BSAs in the material, minimize the burst release of the protein, and achieve a cell-mediated and sustained release induced by resorbing osteoclasts and macrophages. Protein coprecipitation rendered BioCP a promising bone substitute in sustained delivery of multiple growth factors for bone healing.
