HA coated implants are superior to titanium implants in bone formation speed, bonding strength to new bone, preventing the metal ion release, and binding with proteins and cells. In the present the titanium implants are more popular than HA coated implants worldwide except Japan. However, the HA coated implants are recently increasing to be practically used worldwide by the excellent chemical and biological properties.
