The establishment of a set of relavent acceptance criteria requires: selection of quality starting material and optimization of process parameters to manufacture crosslinked UHMWPE with balanced properties Results confirmed SXL process produced a highly crosslinked UHMWPE that significantly improved wear resistance and enhanced fracture toughness (fatigue crack initiation and propagation resistance) compared to remelted materials.
