A Metabolic Modeling Approach to Enhance Levan Production

摘要

Considering the industrial importance of levan, there is a need for developing efficient methodologies for enhanced microbial levan production. The metabolic modeling approach constitutes an important step toward understanding the levan production mechanisms in Halomonas sp. The results of the work will serve as a framework to design metabolic engineering and process optimization strategies for overproduction of levan.
