With the aggravation of contradiction between supply and demand of water resources,the fast development of social and economic in Guanzhong areas of Shaanxi province are encounter with serious restriction.The imbalance between supply and demand of water resource system would be largely alleviated,with the implementation of the Han-to-Wei River water transfer project.Combined with the Han-to-Wei River water transfer project,two water supply mode with transferable water quantity of 10 × 109 m3 and15.5 × 109 m3 is discussed by the local water supply system and Han-to-Wei River Transfer supply system of the year 2020 and 2030,using the deficit rate and deficit index as the evaluating target,then the water situation on water resources of the benefited areas is discussed.The result indicates that when supplied singly by the local water supply system,the water imbalance between supply and demand of the intake area is serious.When supplied jointly by the local water supply system and Han-to-Wei River Transfer supply system,the annul deficit index would increase from 3.17 of the year 2020 to 8.18 of the year 2030 in scheme 1,and the annul deficit index would increase from 0.82 of the year 2020 to 3.31of the year 2030 in scheme 2 which is of significantly improvement than scheme 1.It can be seen that when the water transfer quantity is 1.55 × 109 m3,it could meet the water demand of intake area in 2020,but up to 2030,the water shortage is obviously increasing,the contradiction between water supply and demand is still severe,therefore the new water source must be arranged to ease the water shortage situation,so as to promote the economic and social of Guanzhong areas continually and rapidly development.
