Precise determination of the complex refractive index of samples showing low-transmission bands by THz time-domain spectroscopy

We propose and demonstrate a method to determine the refractive index and the coefficient of absorption of samples showing spectral bands of very low transmission. The method is based on both transmission and reflection terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. We apply this method to characterize TllnS_2 superionic crystals.
