@@Polyethylene (PE) is one of the most widespread synthetic polymer materials in the modern world. PE is a combustible compound; therefore reduction of its flammability is one of the most significant objectives. Flame retardants (FR) are used as additives to polymer materials to reduce their flammability. The phosphorus-containing FR has attracted great interest. Triphenyl phosphate (TPP) is very effective for many polymers as a FR. In this paper, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) with molecular mass over 5-106 g/mol and two type high-density polyethylenes (HDPE) with molecular mass 105 and 3.8-105 g/mol were investigated. The mechanism of the impact of TPP on reduction of UHMWPE and HDPE flammability has not yet been studied except. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of TPP on the degradation and combustion of HDPE -PE with a lowed molecular mass than that of UHMWPE.
