Research on positioning and tracking system of construction workers based on ZigBee

摘要

This study is based on the ZigBee wireless sensor network technology to locate and track construction workers. Byusing ZigBee as a network element, the construction workers as a wireless sensor network of mobile nodes, the wirelesssensor networks and construction workers are combined in organic enriched wireless sensor networks. This paperdescribes the ZigBee-based positioning and tracking system hardware design, including the CC2430 ZigBee modulesbased positioning sub-stations, base locator, mobile positioning devices and transmission interface circuit design, andZigBee-based positioning and tracking system software design. An RSSI-based positioning technology of constructionworker is then proposed. The positioning and tracking system of construction workers for construction site is given as anexample, which demonstrates that it is obviously helpful to the management of construction site.© (2012) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
