The project of CampusWAMS was extended to install two PMUs in the power system interconnection between Singapore and Malaysia. However, not enough analysis based on phasor measurement has been performed on the power system before. From previous research it was found that interconnection causes inter-area oscillations. It is important in power system stability to monitor and identify the power oscillation caused by disturbances such as load switches. This paper focuses on analyzing, monitoring and estimation of the inter-area power oscillation mode for Singapore-Malaysia interconnected power system through a 50-Hz and 500 kV transmission line based on phasor measurement. The FFT filter is employed to extract oscillation data of single mode within designated frequency band from raw phasor measurement. The center frequency of the designated frequency band is computed based on auto spectrum and analyzed. Results about the monitoring and estimation scheme of the small-signal angle stability of power system based on phasor measurements for Singapore-Malaysia interconnected power system with auto-spectrum are presented and analyzed in this paper.
