Shaped charge jet initiation of explosives: a different view into penetration and initiation processes

Shaped charge jet penetration processes are linked to observations during jet-driven initiation of condensed explosives. The model for these processes employs a non-traditional description of the penetration front that appears to explain various effects observed and measured during explosive initiation experiments. New scientific research investigating the penetrator-driven material interfaces and an explosive's initiation is recommended.
