Eu~(2+)-doped Ca_2Si_5N_8 phosphors were synthesized by Spark Plasma Sintering using Ca_3N_2, Si_3N_4 and Eu_2O_3 as the starting materials. The influence of the synthesis temperature and the doping concentration on the crystalline phase and luminescence properties had been characterized. Ca_2Si_5N_8:Eu~(2+) phosphor presented high absorption in the UV/visible region, matching well with the emission of blue LED chip. Also, emission band exhibited a single broad band centered at 600nm under the excitation of 460nm with a full width at half maximum of 70nm.
