By working together as an integrated team, the Felixstowe Project team has provided the town and port of Felixstowe with effective, economic defences against the risk of flooding and coastal erosion. In addition, the works have been designed and constructed (figure 5) such that they are sympathetic to the short and long term needs of a local community which depends heavily on the economic benefits derived from tourism.
