Initial physical model testing has been carried out using a new tsunami generator. The new generation technique allows long period waves to be generated and stable rcpeatable negative waves can also be produced. It also provides better range and control over the volume of displaced water in the system. The wave form and velocities of the flow onshore have been recorded. Pressures on regular idealised structures have also been successfully recorded. Generalised loading regimes for the idealised structures can be determined from this data. Additionally full body forces on the structures have been measured as an extra check for the data.
