Session C3: Shorelines: adapting to change

摘要

To achieve the WFD hydro-morphology objectives a substantial investment is needed. To ensure that WFD objectives are met various approaches are being taken, for example. 1. aligning work that is already planned that will deliver WFD needs 2. being opportunistic and aligning future schemes to WFD 3. improving our confidence in the outcome of improvement measures so that they are delivered in the most ecologically and cost beneficial manner 4. targeting existing capital programmes to take account of WFD to deliver cost effective measures where we have high confidence in delivering improvements Over the continued river basin planning cycles we will be continuing to influence and explore options for hydro-morphology improvements.
