摘要

Sitraffic Motion is an adaptive network control method developed by Siemens AG Germany. Optimizing the traffic signal is one essential feature of Sitraffic Motion. The current algorithm however is not optimized for complex signal settings and is not fully transparent. This paper develops a new optimization algorithm to overcome these problems. It is designed based on a new decision matrix to calculate the green split. The performance of this new algorithm on solving real traffic signal optimization problems is evaluated by microscopic traffic simulations in VISSIM. The comparison of the simulation results shows that the new developed algorithm has significantly improved the signal optimization for isolated intersections.
