Sound Insulation Performance of Joints Spots - A Case Study of Movable Partition

Movable Partition panel had been utilized extensively in various spaces, such as the conference room and the other spaces with "the variation" the frequent demands. For ensuring the movable ability of partition panel, there would produce slits and joint which influence the whole sound insulation of compartmented wall. Therefore, it is not enough to focus the ability of the panel as the only factor as sound insulation of movable partition panel, but also demand the sound insulation ability of the slits and joints between the units of it. The factors of movable partition panel include three parts as the joints in different spots of the panel, and use different buffers like rubber and foam to compare its sound-insulated effects. The first factor is the joints between the panel and wall in top and bottom sides, and the second one is in the left and right sides. The third one is the joints between the units of movable partition panel. In the present step, it makes different spots of joints to be sealed and unsealed, and further make up several combinations of three factors, such as all-sealed, top-bottom-sealed and left-right-unsealed, top-bottom-unsealed and left-right-sealed, and all-unsealed. This expresses the influence of these factors to the whole panel sound insulation.
