Nowadays, Africa, Arab states, Asia & Pacific are the quickest increasing regions on mobile cellular network deployment. A lot of BTS sites and BSC had been deployed with different power supply solution, in these solutions, VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) battery is the main backup power component. As we all know, Africa and Asia & Pacific (especially South East Asia), are the regions where the electric grids are very poor or even no electricity, and even more, the temperature is rigorous high in some areas like Africa and Arab states (especially in Sahara countries). How to evaluate the battery life under unreliable mains associated with rigorous high temperature is an important work to ensure the communication safety and reliability. In this paper we give out three effective methods to evaluate the battery life under unreliable mains associated with rigorous high temperature. The first is the method how to test and evaluate the life of the battery operated under unreliable mains, the PSOC (Partial State of Charge) will be described. The second is the relations between the cycle life and temperature. The last is the relations between the battery throughput and the depth of discharge (DOD).
