Busbar-less type solar cells have been recently extensively developed, in order to improve the conversion efficiency. Although the current/voltage measurement of the solar cells are generally performed using a pin probe bar, the measurement results greatly fluctuate, because the contact is not stable. Solar cells with extremely thin busbars have been also developed for cost reduction, for which ensuring good contact using pin probe bars is becoming very difficult. In order to solve the problems, we have developed a new probe bar to measure those types of solar cells. Measurement of cells with a complicated electrode patterns is possible by making the contact from pin contacts to line contacts. We have obtained good measurement results for new types of cells, using the newly developed probe bar; FSS (Flexible Spring Suspension). The FSS can be installed to existing measurement sample stages with a holder we have designed, and can be implemented at a low cost. This solution is ideal for production line measurement.
