One of the important issues in bio-ethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass is the effectiveusage of sacchararification residue. The sacchararification residue includes lignin, which is contained a variety offunctional groups. It is possible to apply the lignin as raw martial for chemical agents and plastics, thus there is a needfor an effective extraction technique of lignin from the sacchararification residue. In this study, enzymaticsacchararification residue was applied to the extraction technique that was reported in previous study. As results, themethod could extract acetic acid lignin from the sacchararification residue. In addition, the yield of acetic acid ligninincreased with extraction time was observed. After extraction of acetic acid lignin, chemical natures of the ligninwere estimated with fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis. The results indicated the hydroxylation of theacetic acid lignin with extraction time. In generally, many types of polymer are produced by polymerization ofhydroxyl containing monomers. Therefore, it is possible that the acetic acid lignin extracted from sacchararificationresidue is used as plastics material.
