In this paper, a new approach for unit maintenance scheduling was proposed based on the credibility theory. This approach accommodates two-fold uncertainty: randomness of generator's failure and fuzziness of hydro energy simultaneously. To solve the scheduling problem effectively, a Benders decomposition approach was employed to decompose the optimization model into maintenance master problem and operation sub-problem. After the decomposition, an improved Balas implicit enumeration algorithm and an approach involving the credibility theory and Cumulant method were proposed to solve the master problem and the sub-problem accordingly. The proposed approach was applied to a large-scale power system for unit maintenance scheduling. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach were approved by the numerical case study on the IEEE-RBTS system and one province power system.
