By taking a cable-stayed suspension bridge with main span of 1400 meter as example,under the construction sequences of the deck erected symmetrically from the pylons toward the midpoint of main span and simultaneously from the pylons and the midspan toward the junctions of the cable-stayed and suspension sections respectively,evolutions of aerostatic and aerodynamic stability during the deck erection process are investigated numerically by 3D nonlinear aerostatic and aerodynamic analysis,and the favorable deck erection sequence is discussed with respect to the wind stability. The results show that the bridge has better wind stability as the deck is erected simultaneously from the two pylons towards the midspan,which is confirmed analytically to be favorable for cable-stayed suspension bridges.
