For environmental and safety reasons, the car body can be improved using adhesive joints. One of the objectives of the automotive industry is to save mass on vehicles reducing the steel thickness and to develop structural adhesives able to greater release impact energy during a crash. Their development is however limited due to the difficulty to predict long term strength of adhesive joints. The matter of this study is consequently to set up a correlation between the mechanical behavior, the water saturation % and the physico-chemical state. Several studies [1,2] have already proposed models linking water diffusion, adhesion energy loss and failure surfaces but have not linked joint strength evolution to the adhesive physic-chemical state.
