Aliens: Love them or Hate Them?

In my 2011 MUFON paper, I asked :"Are We Ready for Contact with Aliens?". This year I want to try to determine what we might expect from our visitors. We have a surprising amount of data about aliens and their craft. We know of instances where they have destroyed our vehicles, usually in self-defense. We know they have kidnapped Earthlings and subjected them to sometimes uncomfortable examinations. We also know that they seem able to control our minds as well as our bodies and sometimes our memories. They make mistakes and are not perfect. But are their long term intentions evil, such as enslavement? Control of our resources? Extracting genetic materials from us for their own nefarious purposes? We also have to ask if the few people in governments who know a great deal about aliens, have met with them, know their agendas? Know of the visitors preferring to deal with this or that national group? Are we the result of past colonization, migration by ETs? Are we convicts dumped here in a sort of penal colony? Australia served as a penal colony for the UK. These are not trivial questions as we get closer to being able to visit them.
