ISO 13709 2~(nd) Edition/ API 610 Eleventh Edition Highlights

International standard ISO 13709:2009 (Identical),ANSI/API Standard 610: September 2010 “CentrifugalPumps for Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural GasIndustries” also referred to as ISO 13709 Second Edition /API Eleventh Edition has been updated from its previousISO 13709 1~(st) Edition/ API 610 10th Edition.This tutorial addresses the background process in how thedocument was updated along with indicating the participatingcompanies who contributed to this work. The majority of thispaper is focused on addressing the “significant” changes aswell as “other’ changes that are of particular interest to thereader in understanding changes from the previous ISO/APIeditions. Included is the background reasoning behind eachchange. Insight into subject matter for future updates to ISO13709/ API 610 will be addressed at the end.One area of particular interest is the data sheet programwhich has been improved and significantly enhanced tobecome a guide for engineering contractors, end users andpump manufacturers alike for accurately specifyingequipment requirements.
