摘要

For pressing carbon-containing PM steels to high density levels, the volume taken by admixed graphite is a strongly limiting factor; furthermore, graphite dusting is a problem at least at higher carbon contents. In the present work it is shown that by using specially-prepared high carbon masteralloy powders with characteristics very similar to those of the base powders, high green and sintered density levels can be attained without any risk of carbon segregation.
