摘要

This paper presents a new codebook design algorithm improving the existing design algorithm. The algorithm combines the excellence of conventional LBG algorithm, and uses the exclusion algorithm which greatly reduce the computational complexity. The proposed algorithm uses category average of statistical characteristics and also uses Hadamard-transform to speed up the search algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm reduce the computation and improve the codebook performance, especially in case of larger codebook size and high-detail images.
