摘要

In future wireless communication networks, layered modulation is a promising technique to provide reliable and efficient broadcast service for users with diversified wireless fading channel. However, there is a great challenge to effectively determine the modulation parameters in applications. To solve this problem, a Modulation Solution Selection (LMSS) algorithm is proposed in this work. Firstly, a modulation solution set is defined, which contains the optional modulation solutions that could yield the highest system benefits, then, based on Markov decision process, the proposed LMSS algorithm would effectively determine the modulation solution (namely the modulation scheme and power allocation scheme) for layered modulation. Numeric results prove that the proposed LMSS algorithm could achieve superior performance than conventional non-layered broadcast mechanism.
