A New Cable-Stayed Bridge Across the Mississippi River

The new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge is the cornerstone of a multi-phase project completed in February of 2014 and will provide significant relief for commuters in the St. Louis area. This bridge possesses the third longest cable-stayed span (1500-ft) in the United States. This bridge has a steel superstructure composite with a reinforced and posttensioned concrete deck. 136 steel stay cables support the superstructure from reinforced concrete towers. The Delta-shaped concrete towers rise 400-ft above the river.
