The lighting condition becomes not uniform in sunny place and the shade part if the shadow can be done and the presumption accuracy of the snow coverage area decreases to the image for the ground-based observation because of the change in the sun position, geographical features, and the influence such as the clouds. Then, it aimed to attempt the improvement of the snow coverage extraction accuracy by examining the snow area distinction technique for considering the lighting condition on the snow side in the present study. The limited part distinction method to which the snow coverage area was extracted by using the dynamic threshold that changed according to the lighting condition was used for the distinction technique.
