Hydrogen, which has potential as a clean energy fuel, can be extracted from water, biomass, natural gas and other carbon sources [1]. Methanol has been recommended as the best source for hydrogen fuel among the high energy density liquid fuels [2]. Methanol can be converted to hydrogen by several reactions, containing methanol steam reforming [3,4], partial oxidation of methanol [5,6], oxidative methanol reforming [7], methanol decomposition and photocatalytic oxidation [8,9].
