Simulative Research on Solid-gas Two-phase Flow of the Ceramic Foam Filter

In this paper, the author uses Particulate Trajectory Model (PTM) and Porous Medium Model to construct two-dimension physical model and air-solid two-phase flow model in FLUENT to simulate the flow field of the Ceramic Foam Filter(CFF). Studies show that the relative error of flow field pressure between the simulated and experiment result is less than 5%. The simulated trapping efficiency about the two groups of ceramic foam arranged at regular interval is 11% percent higher than that of single one, and it varied with the velocity and diameter. The research results will offer reference information for the optimization design of the particulate filter.
