The drainage ability of asbestos latex sheets was studied in this paper to realize the continuous process of the production of asbestos latex sheets. It was found that asbestos contained about 71.57% fines. Therefore, it was necessary to separate the fines from long fibers by screening, and the long fibers were refined. Electrolyte in the water decreased the surface positive charge of asbestos fibers, which influenced the combination of asbestos fibers, filler and latex, and decreased the drainage ability. The treatment of the pulp with anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) obviously improved the drainage ability, and the optimal dosage was 0.16%. The use of CPAM/bentonite retention and drainage aid system made the beating degree of asbestos pulp decrease distinctly, the optimal dosage of CPAM was 0.02%, and the optimal dosage of bentonite was 0.2%.
