The paper introduced the composition and structure of cello-oligosaccharides of hydrolysis product of cellulose in the reaction system – formic/hydrochloric acid. The results indicated that the hydrolysates of mixed acid (HCOOH/HCl) of cellulose were made up of cellobiose, cellotriose, cellotetraose and cellopentaose. In any condition of this experiment, the yield of cellobiose was the highest component among the products. The yield of cellobiose increased as the hydrolysis time went on, but the yield of cellotriose and cellotetraose increased firstly and then decreased. The yield of cellopentaose was low during hydrolysis, and hardly changed. The yield decreased if the hydrolysis time was over 9h or the temperature was higher than 70°C (time over 4h). The highest yield of cellobiose was 3.1×10-2g/g cellulose at 65°C and 9h. The analysis proved that the product via separation was the relatively high pure individual cello-oligosaccharide. The product of hydrolysis had the same molecular weight as the theoretical molecular weight. Theβ-cello-oligosaccharide predominated in the product of hydrolysis.
