In the aspect of extraction of multiple-mode dispersion curves from field data, f-k method, T-p methods and phase-shift method are often used, f-k method requests equal sampling interval in space domain or in time domain. So, when there are bad traces in the seismic recording, they will affect the spectrum of f-k greatly, T-p method has bad extracting results in low-frequency segment for fundamental mode, but has good resolution for higher modes. On the other hand, phase-shift method has good extracting results for fundamental mode, and has bad resolution for higher modes. The extraction result of these three methods are studied and analyzed. This paper update the present extracting method of dispersion curves by combining the advantage of T-p method with that of phase-shift method together, and then get a τ-p & phase shift-stacking method. This method possesses both the advantage of T-p method and phase shift method, which not only renew the information of fundamental mode, but also remain higher modes to have a good resolution.
