The sports industry, industrial structure, the sports industry's position and role of socio-economic environment, and other aspects of the development of sport industry in Qingdao were studied by using the theory and methods of economics. The results show that the sports industry in Qingdao promotes the economic, development of related industries and the number of related jobs obviously so the sports industry, in Qingdao has become a new economic potential growth point. Qingdao social and economic environment provides the opportunity for development of the sports industry in Qingdao. The countermeasures are proposed for the development of the sports industry in Qingdao.
