SOUND-FIELD RESEARCH OF URBAN SQUARES USED FOR OUTDOOR ROCK CONCERTS

This paper is a continued analysis of previously described detailed measurements that were conducted at 5 public squares in Belgium before and during open-air rock concerts. In particular, the influence of the so-called delay-lines on the measured impulse response and other concert-hall acoustic parameters is studied. Furthermore, the sound pressure level distribution over the squares during the rock concert is spectrally analyzed and temporal characteristics are deduced. These results can form a knowledge base for the implementation of measurement methodologies to check legal noise level limits.
