Shoreline recession analysis and its prediction are of importance for coastal zone management. However, it is difficult to analyze due to limitation of hydrodynamics and wave data. The objectives of this paper are to present and discuss about the effectiveness of a combined methodology of remote sensing technique (RS) and statistical approach. Time series of satellite images taken from RS are used to analyze the shoreline recession along 33 kilometers of coasts at Chao Praya Estuary in the upper Gulf of Thailand over the time interval 1988 to 2008. High R~2 with more than 0.90 of shoreline recession rate estimations are obtained with 72.95 % of all transects. The estimations of shoreline recession show good performances with the statistical test of shoreline positions over the time period.
