摘要

The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the curling influence on structural behavior of single shear bolted connection of thin-walled carbon steel fabricated with four bolts. The end distance parallel to the loading di rection is considered as main variables. As the previous research regarding cold-formed stainless steel bolted con nections, the curling also occurred in these carbon steel connections with a long end distance and edge distance. It is concluded that the curling observed in thin-walled carbon steel bolted connection with a long end distance preceded the other fracture mode such as tensile fracture, shear out fracture, block shear fracture and led to the ultimate strength reduction of bolted connection.
