The groun part of the main building of global center construction of Kaiyuan, Hebei Province is 53 layers and the underground part is four layers and the total height is 242. 8m, and the building of the project will become the high est one in North China except Beijing and Tianjin after the completion. The inner part of the project is cylinder type while the outer part is frame type; the cylinder body is a section steel concrete structure and the outer frame is steel structure,wherein,the outer frame steel column begins to convert from cross shape to box shape since 4-5 layers on the surface and the web of cross shaped column at the conversion part stretches about 1,500mm into the box-shaped column forming a structure like the shape of Chinese character of " 田 ". This kind of section are rarely seen in for mer steel structure construction,and welding cannot be implemented between cross web and box-shaped flange firth during the processing and grooves are need to be dug on the box-shaped flange firth to fulfill plug welding on places where welding is required,in this way,much welding needs to be implemented at the conversion part and shrinkage and deformation of welding are also bigger. The article mainly makes an introduction of production welding proce dure of cross joint and box shaped conversion column and briefly states the production welding procedure of cross joint and box-shaped conversion column and existing problems to supply cross joint and box-shaped conversion col umn production welding procedure with experience and references.
