Drop Simulation of Transport Package in Complicated Logistic Environment

Impact test, such as drop test, is one of the most important methods to evaluate the reliability of goods and the transportation package. However, packages can also be damaged during transportation; even they have been proved to be available by experiments. One of the reasons leading to this discrepancy is that the simplex condition of laboratory test can not reflect complicated logistic environment According to this, the logistic environment where the package drop is attached to the drop test in this paper. The relationship between dropping and logistic environment is discussed on several aspects, such as the height and initial velocity of the drop. A new thought of confirming correlative parameters in the drop test by analyzing the logistic environment is presented. The main process of simulating the drop of transportation package based on the complicated logistic environment is introduced. An example of LCD monitor is carried out to expound the approach by applying the simulation software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The package test can be surely optimized by using the new method. Meanwhile, it can also help to improve the logistic benefit.
