Modelling of Wet-end White Water Consistency Based on Light Scattering and Absorption Theory

Wet-end white water's (WWW) consistency is an important parameter for wet-end stabilization in paper mill, but it's difficult to be measured on line especial for medium and high WWW consistency. To research the mechanism of WWW consistency measurement, 4SSnm wavelength incident light was used to carry out the experiment with secondary fiber's WWW consistency. 900 scattering light and 1800 absorbed light were taken to measure the incident light change through the WWW. The result showed that both low and medium consistency and medium and high consistency of this kind of WWW have good linear relationship with the square of the specific of 900 scattering light and 1800 absorbed light. The secondary fiber WWW soft-sensor model was obtained and the average error of the model was less than 1%, it was shown the model has good precision and can been used to measure the WWW consistency.
