Design of signal processing system for Fiber Bragg grating current sensor

Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor has many advantages such as small size, electric insulation and anti-electromagnetic interference. It has a broad application prospect in high voltage power system and current measurement and now it has become a hot spot. Many researchers are focus on the problem of the demodulation of FBG wavelength. The signal processing system with the core of DSP (TMS320VC5402) and the auxiliary chip of MCU has been designed in this article. The hardware and software of the system are introduced in detail. DSP is responsible for data acquisition and processing, MCU is responsible for controlling the stepping motor of the demodulation circuit so as to demodulate the wavelength signal of FBG well enough. The experimental platform of signal processing system is built. Experimental results indicate that this system can operate stable and accurate.
