1. Make batching legal by placing verbiage in the 4790. 2. Direct commands to perform an AIRSPEED event to determine the maximum amount of LPUs to be batched at their command. Following the AIRSPEED event, create a SOP that is reviewed by QA and their TYCOM, then signed by the CO. In the SOP, include controls that highlight the following: CO2 Bottles, Cap Nuts, gaskets and batteries (items that are frequently not maintained properly). 3. Request CNAF create test questions for CDQARs targeting the proposed batching reference in the 4790 and the Command's SOP. This will raise awareness at many levels, as well as provide guidance that holds the work center accountable for their batching procedures. 4. Include a QA training requirement to be written into the ACB when each ACB is released (if the ACB is due to maintenance malpractice). This training should include the actual HMR referenced in the ACB and be a "safety pause" for the work center at each I-Level in the Navy and Marine Corps.
