A Study on Regional Legislative Coordination among Local Governments in China

The difference and coordination in local legislation is a common problem in all countries. In China, the regional legislative collaboration among local governments is also an urgent requirement for the development of regional economy. Cooperative idea and mode which are embodied in the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, Committee on Suggested State Legislation, as well as Interstate Compact in the U.S., provides us successful experience for reference. Based on reflecting problems of regional legislative cooperation practice and clarifying some unclear conceptions, regional legislative cooperation among local governments in China can use American successful experience for reference: improving the system of administrative agreement, perfecting the system of legislative information disclosure and communication, establishing the committee of regional legislative cooperation among local governments.
