Study on the Issue of Economic Transformation in Resource-exhausted Cities

The resource-dependent cities had made great and indelible achievements in economic development. After development for decades, threats of resourceexhausting have been gradually emerged. 426 resourceexhausted cities were produced, and plenty of strategic transformation issues are needed to be tackled. The essay analysed main features and current situations of resource-exhausted cities in China as well as main problems faced by resource-exhausted cities, such as the declining tendency of the dominant resource, the increases of exploitation at a staggering rate , Unreasonable industrial structure distribution, ignorance of the balanced development of other substitution industry and so on. This paper investigates the problems shown in the process of economic transformation and also provides an array of countermeasures, such as strengthening industrial restructure, selecting substitution industry, the formulation of appropriate financial aid policies for industry, rationally exploitation, improving social security system and maintaining social stability, establishing the compensation mechanism to promote sustainable development Asset-based city and so on.
