Defense R&D is a source of defense scientific and technological progress, has promote effect for the military trade. This article has used the Stackelberg game model to analyze the defense R&D can help weapons and equipment suppliers produce Stackelberg advantage. The demonstration analysis proved that the defense R&D can contribute to the development of the arms trade, while the arms trade also has promote effect for defense R&D in turn.
