In order to study the performance of the soft-clapboard dual pulse solid rocket motor,This paper presents the design and testing of the pulse solid rocket motor conducted at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA). The testing includes the following parts. ① the test of second pulse igniter; ②the soft clapboard cracking test; The aim is to make sure the second grain have a reasonable temperature after the first pulse and the clapboard crack reliably. In order to analyze the cracking of the clapboard, the testing of the clapboard cracking is carried out. In the process, the shape and thickness is changed many times and the optimization project is obtained finally. ③ the single pulse test including the first and second pulse separately; which are conducted to verify their performance. 4)the test of double pulse. the doublepulse test firing is conducted with pulse separation time of about 5s. The test results show that the soft clapboard dual pulse motor can be a method to achieve the energy control of solid rocket motor.
