A new rotary penetration sounding device and its testing method

摘要

Rotary Penetration Test (RPT) is a new in situ testing method which can solve the inability of traditional penetration sounding to pass through hard layers; it can also be used to measure some parameters such as penetration resistance, rotating torque, soil-displacing water pressure and so on. In this paper, the information which is introduced about rotary penetration sounding contains working principle, equipment features and operation steps, etc. The purpose is to introduce a new in situ testing method for readers.
