It is well known that time and temperature can have equivalent effects on the rheological properties of viscoelastic materials. This principle is called the time-temperature superposition (TTS) principle. An analyst can test a material at different temperatures and by using TTS principles, they could potentially predict the material behavior at time-scales that may not be experimentally realizable. This talk will focus on the experimental considerations for generating master curves using TTS. The concept of one-dimensional and two-dimensional shifting of curves as well as some of the approaches to evaluate the validity of TTS to a given system will be discussed.
