Study on thermophysical properties of different kind's tobacco

As a non-ignored part of china economic society, China tobacco industry plays an important role in China industry field, about 5×108 cases cigarette were sold out in 2015. In tobacco processing, the heating processing such as tobacco materials conditioning and drying has an effective influence on tobacco quality. In such processes, with different temperature, humidity, pressure and tobacco thermophysical properties, different results could be obtained. In this work, thermophysical properties of different kind's tobacco were studied. Tobacco thermophysical properties were detected through TPS method, the kind, origin place, water content and temperature were considered. In general, the thermal conductivity of tobacco materials changes in a reasonable range, the value is around 0.05-0.06 W / mK at the condition of 22??dry tobacco material. But there is an obvious difference in thermal diffusivity of different kinds of tobacco; the value is around 0.2-0.35 mm2 / s. At the same condition, the thermal conductivity value of different tobacco could be arranged from largest to smallest, which is reconstituted tobacco, aromatic tobacco, flue-cured tobacco and burley tobacco. And also the thermal diffusivity of reconstituted tobacco is the largest one. The results showed that with the increasing of temperature, the thermal conductivity of tobacco materials increased, the thermal diffusivity decreased. With the increasing of moisture content, the thermal conductivity of tobacco materials increased, the thermal diffusivity decreased The results of this paper provide a useful reference for the understanding of the characteristics of the tobacco raw material, and the corresponding thermal transformation process.
